Rick-first of all, thank you for all your blogs, which I have received. They have been very informative. Regarding REITS, I had a REIT through Vanguard for many years. I invested in that fund to appease my wife, who is edgy about investing, but strong on real estate-so I felt this was a compromise, since the investor is investing in real estate holdings. I held this fund through high and low times but finally bailed about a year or two ago because of the declining earnings in that particular fund. I understand that a number of REITS took big hits because of their investment strategies related to shopping centers-which have become dinosaurs with the market heading more towards internet shopping. So, my question is-is there still a place for a REIT in a portfolio and are they coming back, and are they changing their strategies related to shopping center investments? Incidentally, I have always learned something from your classes I have attended through Shasta College and will attending a couple of them in September. Thank you for all your time you've spent educating me!

Hi Dale, yes I think there is still a valid place for REITs since there is still a need for Real Estate outside of shopping centers, such as, health care, data centers, etc. Look forward to seeing you in September.
